LUNCH/SPEAKER Platinum On a Budget
Andy Frichtl, PE,
At this seminar, you will find out how to apply proven integrated design principles to your next green building project, while achieving high-performance results on a conventional budget. Andy Frichtl, led the engineering design team on a $145 million high-rise, health-care project that achieves remarkable savings both on upfront costs and long-term operating costs. Currently tracking on LEED® Platinum, this will be the largest such LEED project in the world and is scheduled to open fall of 2006. Andy's presentation will show Andy's presentation will show how integrated design helps teams to reach high-performance results without exceeding conventional budgets. Expected to open in September 2006, the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Center for Health and Healing, is a 400,000 sq.ft., $145 million project in Portland, Oregon currently tracking at a LEED Platinum level. The project has aggressive goals: save 60% of energy use and 50% of water use, compared with a standard building, and do this with less initial cost for MEP systems. Midway through construction, net capital cost savings are currently tracking at 11% ($3.3 million) below the initial MEP budget, including anticipated incentive payments.
