Spokane's Downtown redevelopment has been long underway. Despite finding great success over the past 18 years since the landmark Davenport Hotel Renovation began, or since the 1974 world's fair "Expo 74" that became todays 100 acre Riverfront Park, work continues apace on such notable projects as the new Spokane Convention Center. Informal walking tours are encouraged by the immedate proximity to the urban core of Spokane. Many Northwest Cities are just rediscovering their downtowns; Spokane is reaching for much more.
